The Capita Group is the UK's leading provider of BPO and integrated professional support service solutions. With 36,000 people at more than 300 sites, including 59 business centres across the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and India, the Group uses its expertise, infrastructure and scale benefits to transform its clients' services, driving down costs and adding value.
Challenge
Capitas finance and procurement teams had limited visibility of relevant spend data to act on, which hindered management's ability to holistically identify strategic cost saving opportunities across the organization.
What data was collected manually was captured in one-dimensional Excel documents, which significantly restricted the use and sharing between departments and colleagues. Capita sought a technology platform that would give users the capability to automatically monitor, identify and measure cost saving opportunities across the group.
Solution
Rosslyn Analytics extracted four years of data from one SAP system across 70 global subsidiaries, which was then loaded into the Rapidintel platform for automatic categorization
Rosslyn Analytics configured pre-built spend analysis applications that enabled Capita to produce executive dashboards and real-time "slice & dice" reports with key performance indicators
Capita given access to Rapidintel platform in which to run visibility benchmarking reports, leading to the development of strategic plans and KPIs for finance and procurement
Results
- Capita obtained complete visibility of group-wide spend within six weeks of Rosslyn Analytics extracting data
- Nearly 50 Capita employees, from chief executives and department heads to business analysts and category managers, have 'on-demand' access to spend intelligence via Rapidintel
